HM Treasury – Weekly Economic Indicators

The Pocket databank is a weekly HM Treasury statistical publication, containing major economic indicators and time series data for both the domestic and international economies. The focus of the Pocket databank is to be a quick and concise reference source for monthly and annual historical data.

The Pocket databank is available in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) and Microsoft Excel (XLS) format.

Regional Labour Market Release 

The Regional Labour Market Release, which is published on a monthly basis by the Office of National Statistics, outlines key labour market headline indicators for each UK country and region. These cover economic activity, employment, unemployment, economic inactivity, workforce jobs and claimant count.  

Much of the data was previously contained in the Economics and Labour Market Review (ELMR) which has been discontinued by the ONS but still provides a range of useful articles relating to regional economic performance.  Historical editions of the ELMR can be accessed via the ONS website.

House of Commons – Economic Indicators

This Economic Indicators Research Paper series summarises the main economic indicators currently available for the UK, along with comparisons with other major OECD countries for selected indicators.

This monthly report (which is released on the first Tuesday of every month) also highlights some of the current parliamentary material available on the economic situation.
