The Economy Module regularly publish simulations and projections in order to provide insight into where the South West economy is heading in the short, medium and longer term. The simulations and projections are modelled using information from the South West Regional Accounts, supplemented by additional information from ONS Sources and from original research.
This bulletin provides an outline of the latest economic projections, for the South West region, in terms of economic output and employment by industry and sub-region. The projections are produced biannually (Spring and Autumn).
Simulations look at specific economic 'shocks' or changes to the South West Economy and develop a number of scenarios that consider the impact. Topics considered recently include fiscal tightening and lower economic growth scenarios for the region.
